What are some exit opportunities for us with SALT backgrounds? I’m itching to leave b4 for something new.

Recently accepted an offer for a manager in Bizops in Ad sales for a tech firm. Curious about the growth opportunities in this area. What do folks do after 2-3 years in such roles ?

A colleague told me today that Google separates Product Manager and Product Owner as two separate roles. I believe that one PM role is preferred in the industry and most modern software companies, especially FAANG companies, only have PMs. Just curious what others have experienced and if I'm correct in my assumption.

I’ve been an Admin Assistant for 5 years with the last 2 in a government. I have worked hard to get here thinking this is what I wanted. Now that I’m here, making 40k CAD/yr. I'm getting a MAcc to career change to forensic accounting. What opportunities are available to me with a data analytics heavy MAcc? I'm also tacking on 2 graduate certificates in Applied Statistics and International Economic Policy? For those in the field, would that be useful or not useful (i.e. waste of time)? I'm interested in investigations but also analytics, financial modeling, and expert witness services. Throw in salary potential for bonus points. I'll be getting my CPA, CFE, and CAMS.

Does anyone like ID work? Currently doing work at a PI/Medmal plaintiffs firm while in school and trying to figure out where I’ll be happiest post-grad. However, for purposes of calculating the NJ distributive share of income, you apply Gross Income Tax (personal income tax) rules, which is 3 factor and includes COP.

If I end up with 0% apportionment under GIT and 10% apportionment under CBT (withholding tax), the partnership pays tax upfront but NRs get 100% refund?

Maxed out Roth IRA contributions when I wasn't eligible for 2021 (got a salary bump mid year). Do I need to recharacterize? It's a very small account that's been open for only two years. That's the only IRA account I own. Do I need to open a traditional IRA and roll over 6k + realized gains into that account and keep the Roth IRA. So confused how this works and got conflicting information from Merrill.

How does NY (or any other states that tax income) enforce taxes on nonresidents? Assume the taxpayer does not file state return with NY and does not have NY on W2.

I was paid a retention bonus last year which I have to return - couple of questions: Will I get a corrected W2 ? If yes, how much time does it generally to generate a corrected W2? Should I wait for corrected W2 to file the return ? (with the current comp - I owe taxes however with the W2C - I will probably not..) thoughts??

Why is it when I owe money to a state from my annual tax filings, if I don’t pay the full amount I get charged interest. But when they owe me, they ask for additional documentation and won’t pay me interest for them stonewalling me. Not much volatility y/y in earnings.
