Currently making $85k with a 7.5k signing bonus. Wondering if I’m being underpaid in my role. Ive tried probing my colleagues but no dice.

Analyst doing cloud governance and policy - want to become more technical. What’s a good role to begin with?

I work in accounting/finance and have been at my company for over 10 years. I am planning to leave and put in my notice right after I receive my bonus which is right around when “busy season” starts. Unfortunately more than half of my annual income comes from my bonus. I feel terrible about this because it will cause my team to work extra hours during a busy time, but the company is toxic. Any tips? I don’t want to burn bridges with the non-toxic folks.

Left MBB 2 years post Mba to pursue equivalent pay and amazing wlb in a “big old tech” strategy team (think IBM, Dell, HP). I thought boring work would be fine in the context but after 1 year it’s getting to me. How would you think about exit timing to avoid “leaving too fast” but also avoiding becoming branded as an old tech guy? Does the old tech experience look bad for FAANG-like prospects?

Whenever I got promoted to digital ACD a few years ago, I noticed my pay was much lower than I expected for the market I’m in, hard to find skillsets, performance, and visibility I’ve brought to the agency. I accepted a role in New York City but my direct manager said I can work from home in Boston instead. My understanding is that I would be paying NY taxes, but not MA taxes. Can anyone here confirm? Why is it when I owe money to a state from my annual tax filings, if I don’t pay the full amount I get charged interest. But when they owe me, they ask for additional documentation and won’t pay me interest for them stonewalling me. Not much volatility y/y in earnings.
