Question (slightly grim but I intend for it to be lighthearted)— what do people without kids plan on doing with their estate/ wealth once you’re sniffing the daisies?

People always talk about how they’re “working to leave something for the kids” and unfortunately I don’t think my fur baby legally counts.

It’s been something on my mind lately & I’d love to hear what others who are child-free are planning. There’s obviously spouse, parents, siblings, but what else?

When there’s a lull at work, what the hell do you do with your time sheet? I ask for more work to do but tbh I cannot actually bill 40 hours sometimes. Feels like I’m gonna get my hand slapped for relying on admin time but literally don’t know how else to fill it out. What do you do?

Have a family member who has been battling pancreatic cancer for a year. Has had several procedures and chemo/radiation. After removal of mass in pancreas individual couldnt handle the chemo and stopped..following that cancer mass was found on liver, and more recently adrenal glands. Was on the course to start triple chemo and friend of familh member convinced person to do a holistic course treatment without chemo. Conveniently this holistic thing requires 4 visits a month and costs a couple....

Do any of you have peers or friends with old generational wealth? I am with a friend now and don’t even get this lifestyle. They own 3 hamptons houses, Miami, LA, Tahoe, vail, Paris, nyc penthouses. I have had a BOA credit card for a very long time. Interest rate is 6.99% that I got in way back in early 2000s. I finally got the balance to 0 and found out that they charge $1.50 minimum interest charge per month. With the low rate for a card I don’t want to cancel in case emergency. What minimum balance should I carry to have the $1.50 be a wash? Or other advice?
