Additional Posts in Introverted Consultants
Hello fellow introverts! Instead of talking to people I have an Instagram account to shout my opinions about books into the void. Id love it if any of you would be willing to take a look and give me feedback on the reviews. I feel like they aren't quite at the level I'm aiming for.

UX Design?
Most people I know have some training in psych, HCI, or design.
Yeah UX salaries in the Bay Area pay pretty well.
Seems like they all need skills I don’t have. I wish I started my career in programming :(
It’s never too late to learn
Depending on the extent of your introversion, a big part of the work that qualitative strategy consulting / UX researchers do can be creative and visual without the data crunching and presentation / client hand-holding of traditional consulting. Think of ethnography and innovation consulting where your role is mostly observing other humans in their element, vs presenting and being on the spot. Then a lot of creative thinking to connect the insights from the qualitative data into a business proposal for the client. A great place for this kind of humanities-based is ReD Associates. It’s a fast growing field, especially as human-computer interaction becomes increasingly important. Facebook and many other tech firms do this in-house too.
And on the crucial high-paying note — it’s not MBB but it’s not bad. At the top firms you make 100+ TC with two YOE in the field.
Product Marketing? Or actually any sort of marketing actually.
You might have to pick something technical and specialize in it. Take a few months to dedicate to your education and pursue that opportunity. I quit my full time job to spend a month learning Salesforce and got an admin role with minimal meetings and lots of time to myself to just work. I loved it. I eventually went down the consulting path for a 25% salary increase which I’m now starting to regret :/
