Microsoft Excel, especially functions. So many jobs want this, so many people can't do it, and they will love you for it.
I’m taking an improv class to improve my speaking skills
What a great idea! I've been wanting to get better with public speaking, but never thought about doing it in a fun way like improv.
I signed up for a year of Skillshare and have been taking classes that look interesting to me. I feel like using my brain and creativity outside of work makes me better at my job and happier overall. I love that idea of improv though.
It's not a new skill so maybe it's not an exact answer to the question, but: to practice my writing skills, I recently bought a little notebook I take with me all the time. Now, instead of playing games on my phone to pass the time, I fill up all the lost moments of the day describing the environment I'm currently in.
Cooking definitely helps. Your food won't taste like sht and you can impress your wife. Works for me 10/10.
Learning things about yourself, such as how to help calm yourself down if you feel anxiety, nervousness, or anger affecting your behavior. If I'm really nervous, I think of some go-to jokes or scenarios that make me laugh or some calming memories. I know if I get really angry or frustrated that I need to take a few minutes and take a breather.
Learning a new language. Duolingo is my new best friend! I recommend.
CPR.
It doesn't take too long to learn and it might save someone's live. Even if you're only going to use it once in your life it is definitely worth the time.
I'd say being a people person. My boss would send me to gatherings or events on behalf of the company. It's a big responsibility but I'm happy.
Improving my communication skills. It will come in handy in the future.
Hmm. I'd say learning a new language. The owner wanted us to take a special class in Spanish. It was a fun experience.
I don't know if this one is counted. But I've learned baking for the company's event. They allowed me to sell them in the cafeteria.
Self-awareness. I'm so glad I joined the seminar last year. I learned a lot about self-awareness and will probably apply what I've learned.
