What are the best free study resources available for someone who's just getting started?

Could someone explain what finance closing process is? I passed CPA and have audit experience but I don’t really understand how industry accounting cycle works :( What does it mean to close the books? Are they referring to 12/31 deadline? Do all JE have to be recorded within this date? How does one close it?

I’m an L&E associate entering my 5th year at a mid-sized regional law firm (approx. 400 attorneys). Barred in PA/NJ. Billed 2100 last year but my requirement is 1950. Should I try to lateral into BigLaw or should I try to go in house? Are either of those realistic options for me? I seem to be doing a significant amount of municipal law too, which is not what I expected or wanted at all. I want a life but would also hate to take a pay cut. Interested in L&E. Advice?

Has any creative here ever tried to make the leap to leave advertising and be a film maker, photographer, illustrator, etc.?? I’m so tired of ad agencies and how draining the “creative” can be. Are you aware of the CPA exam credit extension to 2021 for NY CPA candidates impacted by COVID19? It’s on a person-by-person basis and you need to request the extension. Has anyone tried doing this yet? Can anyone shine more light on this? The extension would really help me, but I’m not sure what more to tell them in my email than the fact that I couldn’t sit for the exams this Spring/Summer due to test centers closing in NYC.
