Laying down and making everyone leave you alone (after they bring you all your requests).
Holy shit the toddler/infant combo is no joke. Currently getting my butt kicked over here.
Get pregnancy massages! They helped me SO much during both pregnancies. Helps relieve aches and pains and so relaxing. I had major sciatica with both pregnancies and the massages made a world of difference.
I just scheduled one for tomorrow! The aches and pains are the least of my issues this time but I’m hoping it will help me relax overall and just get the circulation going
acupuncture! had a pinched nerve and was so uncomfortable nearing third trimester, worked so well in fixing the nerve pain and releasing general physical discomfort. i have no idea how it works so well but was very grateful.
My second pregnancy was way tougher than my first too. I swear the only way I could function was by taking a unisom tablet most nights. It helped with the nausea, rhinitis, and insomnia all at once.
Highly recommend. Just make sure you get the tablet kind, that’s pregnancy safe.
Find a Webster-certified chiropractor! This won’t help with a lot of the symptoms you mention (I don’t think chiropractics are a cure-all), but it will help get your pelvis aligned for birth.
Had a 31+ hour labor with 1st baby and got two epidurals. Saw a Webster-certified chiropractor during last trimester of 2nd pregnant and had a 10 hour unmedicated labor and birth. Huge difference!
Massage and acupuncture!
Massage and a walk every morning to get things loose. Tons of hip pain for me.
Massage. Definitely pre natal massages.
I loved pre-natal yoga. Gave me time to relax, move gently, and focus on my body and the baby instead of work, husband, toddler, etc.
Pilates, and any other form of exercise that is safe. I know it seems super counterintuitive when you are exhausted, but I found the days that I didn’t do some kind of exercise I was so so beat —-and it would create a cycle of exhaustion if I went without for a few days. I would stare at my running shoes and literally say out loud: come on, motivation!! Even if i did a fraction of what i had hoped for, i felt so much better. It also prevented my ankles and feet from swelling (that came after I gave birth 🤦🏼♀️)
