What are your thoughts on attorneys who leave the law and become real estate brokers. Has anyone seen success there?

not a broker, but my boss became a loan originator after passing the ny bar/practicing. has since been helllllllla successful

Why not do both?

Because I strongly dislike practicing law. It is exhausting and don’t want to endure that type of stress on a daily basis for the rest of my life. Since leaving my firm when covid hit, my family says I am a new person. That coupled with the fact that I am 4 months pregnant, I think it’s time I made a career change.

I am a manual tester with 7 yoe, I am looking to move to some specialized testing like automation, etl or performance.

Which specialization is better and has scope for the future? Would be helpful if you could suggest the tool, course or certification to take

Need help thinking through this…Debating leaving to a tech startup. Very early stage ($3-7M ARR), would have a big role leading strategy and Ops. It’s a cash paycut, which is a bummer but the equity would be pretty good. Just nervous about leaving before hitting the full manager role and taking a paycut in this market to bank on equity. For those of you have left, what kind of questions did you ask yourself to know it was the right time?

My Redfin agent recently quit with one day notice to start his own firm. He was the one behind my deal and did a lot of work and help with negotiation. However Redfin called me and said they put their top regional lead on transaction which is set to close in 10 days. I’m conflicted with what to do. As a buyer I know I can switch firms with seller’s consent and it won’t impact the deal, or will it? The agent said if I went with him he’s throw me an additional incentive to close with him.
