Took him, but only because I had 4th pick.
I don’t know what RB I’d take over him aside from Christian, Saquon, or Zeke
Considering trading a 2021 3rd and 5th rounder in return for Cook and a 2021 6th rounder...thoughts?
Haven’t drafted yet... trade wold be processed post draft... have Zeke as my keeper though
How does the keeper league work? My fear in your situation is that this will be a wasted year, so how will your league handle this? You could screw yourself by giving away picks next year while this year could be lost
We added a clause to the trade stating that if the season gets cancelled before week 9 the trade is reversed, I agree with you
Then sure, take the trade. Cook isn’t my favorite since there are some small holdout concerns, he seems somewhat prone to injuries, and Mattison is a capable backup, but he’s currently the lead back on a run first team that plays at least half of its games in ideal weather conditions (dome), he’s usually a top 5 pick in drafts this year, and you’re getting him this year without giving anything up until next year.
Not that you asked my opinion of draft pick trades spanning multiple years, but I think it’s nothing but bad news. You’re getting a boost this year and potentially in a “rebuilding” year next year while the other person is doing the opposite where they’re almost punting on this year and getting some extra picks in early-ish rounds next year. Along these lines, what happens if you quit the league after this year? You benefit this year by getting Cook and then leave your leaguemates to find some fill in who comes into a shitty situation with no 3rd and 5th round picks next year. I’ve seen it happen..it hasn’t been easy to find a replacement manager for those teams and it could actually cause managers who aren’t directly involved in the trade to question whether they should remain in the league since you are giving the other manager a big advantage next season...so if I was in the league, why would I pay the entry fee while knowingly starting in a significant hole? Draft pick trades across years definitely adds another layer of complexity, but too many headaches imo..apologies for the rant..sore subject.
