Hi all, does anyone know of any recruiters or hiring managers that work in Affirm Inc. I've been applying for a couple of jobs with them . The role I have applied for I know lam a extraordinary fit for
100% and can help the company/ department succeed. I have a good deal of experience with this role and would love to talk to a recruiter or a hiring manager more about this. If anyone
could reach out to me if you have any information on that I would greatly appreciate it.
Can I get some likes please

I probably won't be help here. I love being an assistant and want to stay in this career. My only goals would to remain at a well paying place with good culture and stability with a dash of work life balance.
What is it you want to do? It's hard to find a path forward unless you know where you want to go from here.
I honestly haven no idea. I'm just taking things day by day for now. If that's not enough for you, talk to your manager about what growth opportunities there are in your company. Some places have paths for admins to move up, others don't. Better to find out now than waste years hoping for something that doesn't exist there.
Are you going to pivot to another field? Being an administrative assistant can have many transferrable skills to other positions. Do you have a degree? An easy transition would be getting an entry level accounting job.
I have been waiting for someone to post something like this so I can share how I got ahead!! First thing to you need to do is find a “need” in your area/team. Is it training, standardize processes, onboarding of new admins, etc? Find the weakness in your team/department and find ways to improve them and offer to help. Then don’t turn down any opportunities that people may bring you that may be out of scope of your duties. Learn new skills or software that you may need to in order to fulfill these unusual requests. Be open to anything that people may ask of you. That will open doors to other departments and paths to leadership roles that will eventually lead to higher salaries and also “reputational bleed” (meaning other departments will hear how awesome you are), and open you up to transferring to other departments doing more interesting work that may be aligned with what you want to do. Don’t discount how your current role may help you align to another role within the company even if it may not exactly align to your current role. Accept every opportunity that comes your way; but be honest about timelines. If you don’t know how to do something, say so, but follow up with you’ll find out how and if it can be done. Most companies want to hire from within. If you can sell yourself to the new department, you will have an advantage over an outside candidate.
Last, don’t be afraid to lead. I know it’s hard to give performance reviews and even harder to fire people (I was physically sick for two days the first time). But, on the flip side, I loved coaching people in their careers and helping them thrive. If you want to do other things than be an admin, people need to see that you can do the hard stuff and that you can manage people.
