What can I do about gaining experience? I am pursing my finance degree which I should obtain in December. I’ve applied for multiple jobs within my current employer and I keep getting told that they can’t proceed with my application due to no experience. I don’t understand how it seems that they don’t see that I have been with the company for 11 years now. I could really use some guidance.

I just recently worked 58.6 hours in a week, weekly pay, nice OT profit right? Depends on where you live.

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.

Just a discussion thread, but I feel like this is a good bowl to ask this. Does anyone else look at the vast majority of folks around you and think “damn, we are so over leveraged as a society?” Or am I just crazy?
