Working for IT team at a large company with a bigger Salesforce implementation that is in maintenance mode vs initial build out. Will have way better WLB then doing any form of Salesforce consulting, but probably less exciting work.
Go look at any of the past Dreamforce success story companies and go looking through their job opportunities for Salesforce. If you scope to Fortune 500 companies that will help make sure TC is respectable as well.
I've worked my way down to the "small" category of company, and the WLB is best at this level, for me. As a team manager/lead, I actively check in with my team if they ever put in more than 40 two weeks in a row to see what we need to adjust to make sure we're not asking that of people (only exception is go-lives!), and the smaller the firm, the more flexible the time. We also have lower billable goals than other firms which has really helped the experience. I really like where I've landed at Cirrius, and you'll likely find a similar experience with other small firms!
I've found that smaller (obvs non-Deloitte/accentureesque) consulting firms can actually be pretty decent. I'm at a small (under 100 employee) firm right now and sitting at about 70% utilization in the year and I have zero concern about job security. I'd say once, maybe twice per quarter is there a situation I'm working past 6, and 90% of the time I'm done by 5
Lol, not until they utilize the folks here some more first!
Coastal Cloud, Fast Slow Motion… other firms of those sizes
I’m in Salesforce ProServ…I’ve been here 8 mos and yet to work more than 40-45 a week.
There is some of that work, but we’re really not cost competitive that work and it really upsets our partners if we do too much of it. I’ve mostly done roadmaps, phase 0, roll out strategy etc
Anyone like to share these org names? It will be a great help

What size company?
I had a great experience at Slalom, but unfortunately the leader who drove Slalom’s Salesforce culture and growth left earlier this year. Very inspirational leader. With that departure, there is no direction, strategy, or clarity on who is even running the ship. And slalom just feels chaotic and reactive in general during the downturn. I made the decision to move on to something smaller.
Planning to move on- would like to see suggestions. I got to know that joining a customer make more sense than a SI or consulting partner like Accenture or Delloit
SF6 - SF will loose it soon. PS is turning out to be a joke.
What’s the name?
Not Deloitte!
