love ibm - docs are great and their systems (As/400, RS/6000, zSeries) are the bedrock of business. IBM has been around and will be around for a long time.
Can’t agree more. IBM Should stick to what they do best.
Have multiple offers from IBM over the years. Hornets nest/ non collaborative set up from PWC so I have avoided it.
On products, beat them with open source / cloud native any day.
Having said that, good news may be on the horizon with Red Hat if management changes go through but IBM is a hard ship to move even for the best people and with the best intentions..
I wonder, frankly, how much life you guys have left. I feel like IBM is a dinosaur and the comet is on the horizon
I have worked on multiple IBM products and always felt that the product can be more usable, From my perspective IBM has mediocre products and given that it is a winner take all market it is going to be difficult but the company will survive
I honestly just hear that the pipeline isn't living up to the consulting talent you guys have and a lot of people are frustrated by it, not sure how true that is or the work being done though.
I left IBM GBS as an Associate Partner. The politics was unbearable- worst culture I’ve ever experienced. 0 collaboration between lobs and internal back stabbing was insane. You had to beg people to get added to pursuits and there were so few ongoing that it was all out war between APs to get tagged to one. Pipeline was pathetic and there was 0 sales focus. 10 day PTO and terrible expense policy. No business class on international trips. D is awesome in comparison!!
S4 care to share what was the comp difference between AP at IBM and SM at D?

Answer to what is “old” at ibm: >=50, unless you are an Exec. If an Exec in the age bracket you just get recycled to other Exec positions in ibm until you are frustrated and leave on your own.
