Lots of floor time (play mat)
At 3 months you don’t necessarily have to keep her in anything. A swing, the play mats, just the floor.
Pack and play
Yep we kept the pack and play in the living room for a long while
Pro
The floor, the sofa when attended, middle of the bed while doing laundry, Baby Bjorn bouncer if really needed. I’m on my third infant right now and they really do much better if container time is limited.
+1 to this. We did lots of floor time, we have a cushioned rug in our living area we used that and sometimes would put her playmat on top for more cushion if needed. She would just enjoy her time there, given all of us were in her eyesight view😁.
When she was yet to roll off we would have her on the inner corner of couch (always attended). (L shaped couch). All of these worked amazing for us.
Rising Star
Yeah we don’t really ever keep him in anything for more than 15min at a time and it’s only if I need to shower, pee, make a meal, etc. Otherwise someone is holding him, playing on the floor or sofa, reading, doing tummy time, etc.
Cushioned rug on floor, or being held/breastfed :)
Rising Star
When he’s awake he’s on his playmat (or sometimes just a comforter laid on the floor to provide some cushion), with us on the bed or couch (laying down, on our thighs, on our chests, or in a Snuggle Me lounger), or in his bouncer. We’re working on getting better at using a carrier but aren’t there yet.
When he’s asleep we’ll sometimes put him down in his minicrib which rolls out into the living room (friends with larger houses have a pack n play set up for this — theirs has a bassinet option), but tbh most naps are contact naps especially when he’s in a fussy period like he is now.
And of course a stroller or carseat when we’re out.
All this to say, I don’t think you’re missing anything.
We had a dock a tot thing but he kind of started to dislike it around 3mo, but yours may like it. We also had a swing and that fisher price piano mat that everyone has. His favorite container was the bouncer. So i guess you could get a swing. But yeah, we stressed about this too.
