Moving to a new city is all about giving yourself opportunities to meet and interact with people even if they won’t end up being your new circle of friends. Instead of sitting on the couch, you could sit on a park bench and interact with others. You can go into the office for work to meet your coworkers. You can attend events put on my various groups or by the city. Go out with the intention of being around people. That will open up many doors for meeting friends who will invite you to other events etc. Just put yourself out there

Have never related to any post on this app more. I’m personally going to try and join intramural soccer/baseball teams so that I can meet new people. Might try to pick up a martial art like boxing as well.

Same… I live in Charlotte and my gf is a nurse who works 3/days a week and after work it’s always the same thing - go to the gym, make dinner, watch tv, bed, work - repeat. We are always bored and that is making her want a dog now. Hard making friends in a new city, as I only know 2 people here and I’ve been in NC for almost a year.
Following up on this, look up “Charlotte” in the bowl search feed and join the Charlotte bowl. We can plan things from there
Many cities put on street fairs or farmers markets or other fun walkable activities during the summer. Google what’s going on in your city each weekend!

I just moved to Chicago a month ago and I’ve been meeting people by going to festivals, going to group workout/yoga classes, and just using dating apps (with the intentions of at least making friends). If you’re clear on dating apps that you’re new, want to make friends, and are down for a drink most people would do it with you. I would just try to go to events around your city where people almost have to communicate with each other to enjoy the experience— if that makes sense. That’s how I’ve met all the friends I have now :)
Yeah I’m a gay male I used Bumble (didn’t really like the BFF feature tbh), Tinder, and I had Hinge downloaded but never used it
I used Meetup to find a swing dance group, I’d suggest seeing if they have anything related to your hobbies!

I used meetup to join a tennis group and joined a couple of intermural sports leagues. I also remember to give myself some time to decompress, so some weekends I spent the day inside and play video games or watch movies.
The one I joined is in houston. It's called young adult tennis group (21-39)

Take up martial arts (BJJ, Boxing, etc.) you’ll meet a ton of cool people while training new skills / exercising
