What do you think the biggest threat to our jobs are: AI or outsourcing?

Outsourcing for sure.

like

AI can’t do everything so I think it’s a combo of both.

like

Both 😭. I'm so worried about the future. I have no idea what I'm going to do if layoffs start hitting...

like

I don't think that AI could replace everything that we do, but I use it with my job and it helps me streamline my meeting minutes and notes. (They're never 100% accurate with AI) I love that it helps me get that part of my job done quicker so I can tackle other things that AI can't touch.

like

I think it is some of both along with other market factors going on right now. It is truly a very challenging time. :(

like

AI

Both!

That’s probably a coin flip at this point. I think both are a real concern. I might say that AI has the edge though.

Outsourcing has been going on since the late 90's. AI will eventually make the biggest impact. Less people will be working because the majority of work will become automated. It is already starting to make an impact in some industries and many more are in testing phases for some jobs.

Futuristic tech, prehistoric management styles.

Definitely a combo of both

Am I particularly uptight, or is writing meant to be done alone, without a partner talking to you? With past partners, we chat through script notes and then I go off to execute. Current partner likes to sit and chat as I write. To me, writing is crafting a conversation. So I can’t talk to you and simultaneously talk to this audience. Of course I can just say “I’m gonna go write.” But since we’re both CD level, I’m like…is this his first rodeo? Maybe other writers are different though.

Outside counsel has been prepping company witnesses for a trial in August. It is my subject area so I am supervising outside counsel. I did not, however, choose the counsel. He is doing a really awful job. Co counsel is better, but not great either. Higher ups love the firm… I do not want to micromanage, but I have genuine concerns about outside counsel’s ability to try this case. Trials are rare, and I just don’t think these guys have actually tried many cases. Cont. below…

Hi, I am looking for job change and I have 2.4 years of experience and now currently working under finance and accounting team.

I cleared technical round and during final call with HR, my salary expectations were higher as per HR.

My current CTC is 9lpa, skill-IAM and Java, YOE-3. I asked for 14lpa, best they could give was 11lpa. I know I asked a lot.

She didn't care to negotiate and cut my call and now they put my candidature on hold. Can I expect call back? Or i can consider myself rejected?

My sister might divorce with her husband, they have a baby of 1.5 year. We came from a divorce family and honestly never thought it would happen again - I feel powerless and I don’t know what to do. I feel bad for my sister but I am also mad at her (the fault is always in the middle) because they are not trying to fix it. I am also scared for the baby, I perfectly know what it means to grow up in a divorce family and as much as parents are present is not the same.

I’ve recently started work at a very young tech startup. Coming from a big law background, this was a huge change of pace/environment. I’m having a lot of trouble getting used to how unstructured the startup is. It feels like hire ups give a set of instructions then talk as if they don’t remember, or then decided rules A, B, C and D applies without being clear this was the case. Is this just the general startup environment? If you experienced this before, how did you deal with It?
