I actually really liked Reasonable Doubt with Emayatzy Corinealdi even though they had her in a terrible wig most of the show. 100% had some corny moments but it reminded me of Being Mary Jane in a way and I liked that about it. I want something to fill the void of htgawwm and Scandal, modern, *actually* diverse cast, cases like Olivia was handling so we get some drama. And some actors who actually have chemistry together to be love interests lol.
Honestly I just want another The Office lawyer edition…and more black and brown main cast members
Partner Track did not just have “corny moments.” It was an abomination and didn’t have a single redeemable quality. Cringey as all hell. (This is not an “anti-woke” take; I would say I fall in the extremely woke category.)
Biglaw-related movie/shows should not exist because biglaw is not a compelling subject. Maybe documentaries about scandals, realities of it, etc. But not dramas or the like. Maybe a surreal comedy, if anything.
I know this wasn't the forefront of the show but I really enjoyed Molly's POV on the show Insecure, especially how she transitioned to an all Black firm after being passed up for promotion at her previous firm
Yes love how they did that!
I'd like to see a more realistic representation of lawyers in the next big law related movie/show. It would be great to see the complexity of the legal system and how lawyers often have to battle various obstacles and pressure in order to get the justice their clients deserve. Aside from that, it would be nice if showrunners could showcase the personal lives of lawyers and how they balance their career and lives outside of work, you know.
Justice? Biglaw?
I liked For the People. A lot. Like I was so sad when it was cancelled.
Watch better call Saul. It’s not about big law but it was the only attorney related show that had me intrigued and I loved every second of it. It shows you the intensity of this profession, the hard work that goes into it and addresses ethics and all this other ish.
Unless it's like the good fight, veep, or succession, I don't care for it.
Pleaseee no more Suits lol, I just can't deal with the wildness of the plot and the total implausibility haha
Throughout its run, I really loved how the Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul world handled with attorneys in general. Solo attorneys, small firms, and major firms are shown appropriately throughout both shows, in my opinion. Better Call Saul's courtroom scenes struck me as extremely accurate. Ordinary citizens would be surprised at how much business is conducted in courthouse halls.
