Any rate that's 5% above inflation sounds good to me. But at my job, employees typically get inflation + 10% at a minimum if you’re performing well annually.
I see. That’s very good! Are you public or private sector?
Been 3% for the 10yrs that I’ve been with my company. Only way to get more is promotion or leave. Then if you get a promotion around the time of merits, you get no merit only the promotion increase.
Sadly, I have seen this being true for a lot of places. In order to get a good increase you either have to drink the koolaid or jump ship.
My company does not provide any type of raise or evaluation. You need to apply for a higher level job.
From what I see, without applying for and accepting a new job, you will stay at the level you were hired at forever. I was not aware of this when hired and did not think to ask during the interview. I will probe more with my next job.
