After the fall down of Lehman Brothers, Companies started firing the employees.
People who were on Bench or who were the lowest performers were the first to be fired.

People who were on projects were saved but had to work extra in the name of recession .So it was the kind of situation where companies were kind of blackmailing.
Some companies which were hiring at that time were giving lower or same packages and were mostly startups.I knew some people who lost their jobs were unemployed for 6 months or so .
In 2009 Again Hiring started, and things became normal

Only safe companies at that time were Infosys and TCS.

I started my career in 2007, so had seen all these.

Curious to know how much your student loans were when you graduated from your program, how much you’ve paid off so far, and your age. If you have any varying factors too, like kids, income range, etc. Just trying to see if I’m on track or slacking in life. Not sure what's going on in the name of BGV these days.
I mean companies ask for payslips, relieving letter and docs before rolling out the offer.
After that also, they are checking addresses ,calling references, sometimes asking again for documents, sometimes even bank statement.
Seriously I don't believe that a professional would be required to do this much anywhere outside India.
Gives me a really weird feeling.
Moreover its not just 1 company so many are having such scrutiny. Anyone else feels the same ?

Why do companies are firing and hiring at the same time ?
I have seen few IT product companies like Amazon firing people and I have also seen openings at their job portals.

So instead of firing so many talented people why they don't just move them to whatever open positions they have ?
I know they can't move everyone but they can do so for atleast some of the people they have decided to fire even after being good performers ...

Is it lack of efforts from their recruitment team side?

I got an offer from Accenture strategy to join as consultant. The offer letter says that the annual performance bonus is upto 27% of fixed pay. How much do they generally pay?
Also, approximately what is the annual hike that they give at 4-6 years work ex?

Just a thing what I have experienced.

I had an offer from one company that gave 90 percent hike even when notice was 90 days. Now that a month close is left I just gave 4 four interviews in a day taking a leave an all got cleared. The offers getting are aggressive too. But in my experience what I have seen that the quality of interview has gone down compared to offline ones. Please let me know your experiences.
