55k at bigger shops
^ the above is really low. I’d look to get $60k as that’s fairly standard. No lower than $55k
Not true. 50-60k is average. 60k is rare as a junior though. I got 54k with a portfolio degree.
Anything from 50-60 although in NYC if you make less than 60k they have to pay you overtime so even 50k is probably higher than that once it’s said and done
If you make less than 57 and have junior in your title by nyc law you get OT. At least at all the big shops.
Actually to go off the OT topic, if you get 58 or higher no OT.
Aim for 55k and make sure there is OT, a junior recently doubled their 55k salary with their overtime at my shop. I hear it’s taxed a decent bit but that they can out making more than most mid levels.
It’s the perfect way to incentivize you jumping on every project possible. Which helps you on the long run.
