What is Google? How does it differ from Yahoo?

You can google the first. Hours are similar depending on the size of fund/what your consulting hours are. Comp is way better. I have friends who are 3 years out of UG in PE making $350K all in at mid size funds

You need to put 2-3 years at a solid IB first working ridiculous hours, and then only a fraction of IB analysts can make it to PE. It’s not a sure bet at all...

It’s HELLLLL. DO NOT GO THERE
Why don’t you google the basics first then ask more targeted questions after you do your due diligence?
It’s a lazy post 🤷🏼♂️ why ask us when google can answer the basics in more detail

PE is basically investing private money into struggling companies, then selling those companies after 3-5 years at a profit. 10-15 deals per year depending on size of PE shop.
Hours are probably around 70-90 hours depending on if you're doing a deal or not. Probably also highly dependent on size of fund.
Pay is great, an associate (3-5 years) at a smaller fund can probably clear $200k, larger fund can probably clear $300-400k.
Incredibly hard to get into. You're only bet is go back to school for MBA->2 years are investment banks-> recruit for PE
OR maybe with MBB experience.
