I live by two rules: 1) you’re either learning and/or earning and 2) most of corporate advancement is luck so always take opportunities to increase your chances of luck
To add on this, networking and maintaining positive relationships increase your luck. It's cliche, but people move around and you seriously never know when a connection will come in handy down the line.

Assume that you are the unlucky one, so interview every year.
Get to know the people in charge, be likable, and get real good at navigating corporate politics. It would also be helpful to be good at your job
I think networking is the biggest thing I can suggest. It really is who you know, not what you know. Its sad but it is the truth. Network with as many folks as you can. Never hurts to be a brown noser.
The timeline for promotion depends on the company and company policy. Based on my personal experience, I was promoted after 3 years. It's important to gather all your preformance reviews and records of your achievements.
Become an asset to the company in any way you can.
This too. You want to become someone they can't replace. Learn as much as you can.
Network and seek out the people who are in the areas you want to be.
Definitely network! If you're a shy person that's fine, but networking is all about who you connect with. Start small and go from there, you don't need to befriend an entire company in one day.
Networking.
But also, what’s the rush? You may get restless/frustrated if you peak and plateau too soon in your career.
Work on your skill set and even if you think you're quite rounded, there is always more that you could learn. See what new softwares are being used, what people are looking for in the corporate world, particularly your industry, and start building those skills quickly! Your higher ups will notice and you will do better.
I don't set timelines because it will just frustrate you. I'd say just enjoy your time and give your best in all your projects and tasks. Never miss a deadline and be kind to everyone around you. Above all, show them your full potential and skills.
