What is the biggest pain point in your process workflow right now? For my company, it is the accounts payable process and closing projects.

For me and my workflow when we have an issue open and investigation has all but concluded and we know countermeasure going forward sometimes it is difficult to get the responsible group to accept responsibility (important because they are responsible for paying for changes to fix issue)

I'm thinking just about everyone in the organization might have a different answer to that question. What comes into my mind is how we handle changes in requirements. That's where things can often just get knocked sideways, creating delays and the need to rework things. Projects are just going to change, that's unavoidable, but how we handle that and communicate it and adapt could always be improved.

Good one

I think our team is in a real transition period learning how to communicate effectively and keep organized on projects. We had some layoffs earlier this year and a little bit of reorganization happened. We haven't quite figured out how to stay organized/communicative as a new team

Computer systems! (PLM, Product Requirement Management, CAPA software, etc). JNJ corporate wanted all op-cos on the same systems to save money. Little customization for our local needs. We have to change tons of stuff so the software can handle it. And the new stuff is so non intuitive to use! If Google or Amazon was as nonintuitive as our PLM system? We would have never heard of Google and Amazon!

For sure

I’m an L&E associate entering my 5th year at a mid-sized regional law firm (approx. 400 attorneys). Barred in PA/NJ. Billed 2100 last year but my requirement is 1950. Should I try to lateral into BigLaw or should I try to go in house? Are either of those realistic options for me? I seem to be doing a significant amount of municipal law too, which is not what I expected or wanted at all. I want a life but would also hate to take a pay cut. Interested in L&E. Advice?

My professional life at the moment is far from ideal. I’ve been on quarantine (long story, but a good one) for the last seven years. Royalties from my books don’t pay the bills. My entrepreneurial pursuits remain hampered. For the interim, I’ve been looking for a remote opportunity where I can leverage my skills in marketing, sales, social media, and elsewhere for a decent sum. I have a social media presence which, in recent years, reached millions. There has to be something exciting I can do.
