Tata Consultancy Infosys Cognizant Wipro I have completed all the technical and HR rounds and salary discussion, documents submission also done. But all of sudden got mail from hr saying that my profile is kept on hold. Any possibility that I will receive offer letter or it will be in hold forever? Meantime can I attend interview for other positions in hcl?

Highly dependent where you are and who you support. Your manager is not your supported colleague which can be bad or good as well.
I think your experience will be massively different in our service centers, where EAs can support upwards of 10 EMs or APs, and from what I hear, crammed in a call center environment, compared to a local office EA where you’re likely given a 2-person desk (partner or SP), decent working space, snacks and office services support, etc.
Benefits are incredible, salary where I’m located is right on part w what I’d expect. My managers are good. Office culture is meh and EAs are often overlooked in a broader firm sense but our little EA community is supportive and collaborative.
Decent opportunities to “create your own McKinsey” but you gotta do your own research and be your own advocate. No one is gonna gift you anything.
Feel free to PM with any other questions!
Which office are you in?
Health benefits are great but that’s just about it. For both my spouse and I, I only pay $24/month. If we had kids, it’d be $35/month. Extremely low deductible and just about anything you can think of is covered with no copay. Honestly, it’s the only reason I’m still there.
They’re starting to make us come into the office 2 days a week and then 3 days starting next month, which none of us want.
We’re overworked and underpaid. Many of us are working OT every day. We do get paid for OT, but it cuts into our personal lives significantly.
They do lunches every Friday and a lot of connectivity events throughout the week, but honestly, I’d rather they use that budget to pay us more.
If you wanted to work for the firm or “get your foot in”, I’d try the Practice Administrator roles instead. They’re treated a lot nicer and respected more by those they support.
If you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask.
Ah that’s a shame. Thank you for the information though! It sounds a lot like BCG.
The EA Managers are not your friend. My manager was horrible and incompetent. McKinsey believes in the feedback model to be successful in your role. Unfortunately, it is a deeply flawed model. Harvard Business Review wrote a wonderful article about its flaws a few years ago, which you can find online. You are not allowed to question the feedback your manager delivers to you. People are allowed to character assassinate another employee and yet be protected anonymously. Not worth your time.
