It depends on the hiring process. Are they hiring to fill classes of people for insurance positions or is it a single role? Both handle different at least when I was in insurance. If it is for a single position and you are an external candidate, don't get your hopes too high. Most companies right now are hiring internal first right now. They post jobs externally to make it look like they are growing to investors and shareholders as well as looking to comply with EoE guidelines. My company always looked internal first, if they weren't satisfied then they'd hire external. If its been 2 weeks and no peep from them, that shows the odds in favor of you not moving on with them. It still could happen, but if an internal could fill this position, most likely they aren't going to hire external.
