MBA recruiting offered ~140 with 10% bonus and 30K signing
ZS pays poorly and brags about it on the internal website
Base salary for consultant: 130k + Cola (0-10k)
Base for Manager is ~180k (Cola at such high salaries are minimal/none)
Bonus is usually 10-15% (I have seen higher but rare)
Annual raise is 10-15%
It takes 2-2.5 years for C to M promotion if you are a top performer
Zs2 needs to work on their reading comprehension skills. We do have a post that says we don’t want to be the highest paying firm, but then the post lists the reasons why, mostly because the culture of the firm isn’t looking for people chasing a quick buck.
To further clarify, the post also doesn’t say we pay poorly it says we don’t want to be the firm setting the high bar.
sounds like his reading comprehension skills are pretty good actually
no firm is going to say they pay poorly in those exact words. of course they will say something like you describe, or say something to the effect of trying to remain competitive and retain clients and deliver the best bill rate, etc. the result for the consultant is that the pay ends up being relatively less than at some other firms. sorry i don’t drink the kool-aid.
Glad you don’t SC1, please continue hopping firms. You’ll notice there are rarely ZS people on here looking to jump ZS to Accenture or the big 4. We have a culture and a pay structure to try to discourage people from hopping from firm to firm. It works well for us and we have motivated talented people.
Thanks for sharing!
I was a senior BTA at ZS. Only made 90k.
Again SC1, saying you pay poorly versus setting the industry bar are two totally different things. Glad this turns you off because we wouldn’t want you.
Look at management consulted, it’s pretty accurate and we’re obviously not miles apart from the firms setting the bar.
not hopping firms, thanks for your concern. but one of the main reasons people look to switch firms is because they are able to make more money by doing so.
