I have interview scheduled and completed from Commonwealth Bank Bangalore location. All technical rounds cleared.
When I called HR i got a surprise answer..
They mentioned the position which I have intervied is different than the salary rem ranges. And my current salary is higher than position what they have got and asked for approval for rem ranges changes..
Is any one faced this? Ideally HR should know expectation and allocation before scheduling intervjew..
I am bit confused with commonwealt

EY2 what is so great about the south? I ask because I've always been curious about it. Cost of living seems really low. Seems like you can live a pretty good lifestyle?
EY10, I used to live in the south for 10 years but recently moved to the northeast. Honestly, the difference in lifestyle is drastic - clean, friendly, comfortable and convenient. I'm planing to go back south very soon. Cost of living is well below national average - $150k will get you a 3-bedroom house with a 2-car garage. Pretty good, right? 😊
Another salary question that's dependent on so many factors.
Narrow perception because they didn't think there was an office in Alabama? Dude get over yourself
@BDO 1 - All Big 4 are in Birmingham along with many regional and national firms. What a dumb comment to make.
So sad that some people have such a narrow perception of the south ☹️ To me, it's by far the best region to live in the whole country.
I live in the south and support his comment
Damn I make 55 as a Staff in Midwest
$55K in Alabama
Staff 1s make 55k in Southwest-Houston
1. Don't call me "dude"; 2. There was no reason for BDO 1 to make such comment.
@EY5 I think we are talking general assurance, although hard to tell since OP never stated service line or region
Manager 1: my first year senior pay was $80k in Miami. But I'm a lawyer.
Sorry my bad, it was a joke in poor taste
I think for northeast assurance it's anywhere between high 60s and low 80s depending on your raises in your two staff years. I am hoping for 80+ but we will see how compensation looks this year.
I make 56k as Staff 1, Midwest but not Chicago. Much lower COL than there
LOL there is no E&Y, or any accounting firms for that matter, in alabama.
SF office, started wth 65k, then 10% increase to staff 2, and hoping that there's a good PBB + promotion raise+ bonus else it's time to exit
@BDO 1 - there is an EY office in Birmingham, AL
SF. 81k as first year senior.
S1 $68k. @BDO1 Roll Tide
