Ok. This is interesting because I interviewed with Fidelity last week and I was told that Fidelity is planning to call all employees all 5 days to office once renovation in one of your offices is complete
Oh we were not told about this and renovation might take 2 years but not sure
Renovation would take a minimum of 2 years as per me
Renovation of Manyata, but it seems there is some issue going on in the current building.
2 weeks compulsory you have to be in the office.In many or I can say almost in all BU, you have to be in the office for 2 weeks that to for 9hr(11-8pm). Also you have to work on prod support in every quarter for 1 week including Saturday and sunday(8am-8pm).
Fidelity Investments laid off more than 700 resources last week. Be careful, think 10-12times before joining. Manager will talk you nicely during interviews.You will get their real face once you are in the organisation. There are many fav resources who are in the org for 5-10years. And you won’t be welcome in their group. If you are joining with good package then there are high chances that the group will plot some politics up against you . Because they don’t know the work culture outside including managers. Work culture is worst at fidelity investments. Many dogs will come in support of fidelity. That’s what they do. You can check it in other threads as well people are get to know that these FI guys are intentionally misguiding others. Think a lot before joining.If you don’t want work life balance job and ready for late night evening call then join and enjoy😊
Note: There is no logout time at fidelity investments.
It will be starting after 4 months. It’s already in testing phase
and how is the work life balance?
It's 10 days a month and no hard restrictions like you have to be 8 hours as such. It's flexible
Yes it's 2 continuous weeks all 5 days and then 2 weeks WFH .no restrictions on hours logout is not tracked most of the people I see work from office from 9-3:30 or 11-6 in normal shift . Then you can continue working from home . Normal working hours are 11am -8 pm.
There are many companies where you don’t need to interact with US folks so you can login by 9 and log out by 5. Fidelity has 11-8 working hours, which is sufficient enough to tell you that there is no work life balance at fidelity. Many folks are not capable to get a job outside that’s why have been in company since many years, hence jealousy factor comes here. They will think about you how this guy is changing companies easily and we won’t. Then they will start to screw up your life.
You will face a situation every month or I would say in every sprint where your SL(product owner) will ask you to finish your sprint work on time which is fair enough, because you are getting salary for the same. But here is a trick, your CL(may or may not be your reporting manager) will ask you to take some other work as well which is not related to your sprint and it won’t track any where. If this situation comes then you are gone. You will think that okay I should do my squad work but then you will be forced to take this other work which your PO is not aware of it. This is a very painful situation and trust me many folks are suffering with this. I have few friends at fidelity who are still suffering. Whenever we have any plan my friend simply said either he has some stupid prod support(on call even though your are developer or a tester) or doing some other stuff for their CL or some pending squad work because they were busy in some other stuff which no one tracks.
Technology wise you will be working on latest tech stack but you have to sacrifice your personal life. So I would say think 100 times before joining.
Don’t go simply with glass door reviews it’s a trap. They are good in managing this king of things. My friend already experienced this kind of things. Connect with a folks on LinkedIn who joined fidelity 6 month or 1year back. Do not ask to those folks who been in fidelity for many years. You will get a clear picture. May be few business units are doing well that’s why folks are saying that fidelity is good company. So just get some more info with this.
When you say there is no logout time at FI, does it mean that I can login 11 AM and logout at 1 PM as well?

Work life balance is pathetic at fidelity. You have to be in the meeting from 6pm to 9-10pm
I don't feel it's pathetic. It's in fact too good. Most of the teams will be good in fidelity. I think you should have been into the wrong team mate
Yes there will be meetings since the counterpart is from the United States. Which should be common for all most all US based companies
