Taurus - medium sucking up. Not full blown but im kind and im pretty available / responsive

like

Virgo—I’m nice to people that deserve it. For better or for worse, can’t do fake.

like

Leo - enough force to get a golf ball through a garden hose, more oppressive than the vacuum of space

like

Leo here also and passive people-pleasing AF. Based on this response, I was definitely born in the wrong month.

Which Zodiac are we talking? The one from 2000 years ago that everybody seems to use, or the one updated to reflect how the stars have shifted in that time?

Lol astrology.

like

Libra, Scorpio moon. Not at all and tbh scared it may hurt me in the long run.

like

Libra and same!

Astrology is one on the most important, yet overlooked, factors in determining success in this field. However, moon and rising sign are more pertinent for this particular question.

like

A8 – your Capricorn moon is showing. Also, cool it with the double negatives.

Cancer - I try and fail when I do, but seem to be pretty successful when I'm not trying and genuinely respect the partner. Hate that this seems consistent with my astrological sign

Gemini. But astrology is total garbage.

I try to do good work and be pleasant but do not make any effort to suck up.

Virgo. A lot but I’m improving now that I feel confident in my value add and know what I’m doing.

Scorpio. Massive suck up tbh but it doesn’t matter much because I have a weird personality.

Hi friends,

I'm a new joinee in MSFT.

People in my team they don't come with me for breaks. (They blame the timings are different since they sit in crits but i don't think so because they have their own group of friends to go with)

Secondly, when my team members see me in cafeteria we expect they'll sit with us but people here are being rude they directly go and sit with their friends they don't call you to join. ( atleast they could have said they are accompanied)

People behave unpleasant

The firm has approved of my transfer to a new city. I am also exploring opportunities in industry in the new city... is it a bad look if I leave a few weeks after I transfer?

A couple of ppl in my previous agency, saw a competitor acct try a very interesting idea that we thought was cool — but their execution was super localized, in europe, and was not even done to its fullest potential. So, they didnt get ANY press (just like two articles from random websites). Fast forward and Im at another agency, thinking that now more than ever, that idea could be done better. Is it fair game?

Any Atomic Habit readers here? I’m brainstorming identity-based habits for two things I want to change:

-I want to bill more hours, so my goal is to become the type of person who bills at least 8 a day
-I want to drink less alcohol, so my goal is to become the type of person who drinks occasionally

Neither of these feel that helpful. Any one have suggestions for other identity-based goals that get at these changes I want to make?

How can I sell my 2 years of clerkship as valuable experience for corporate work? I would like to get credit for at least one year (at least in salary, if I can’t in seniority). I know for litigation they are more clearly valued and linked to that type of work, but I have reconsidered my interests and now am thinking of going into corp. However, I don’t want to feel like I wasted 2 years clerking (which I don’t feel like that, but I have to convince an employer of that too). Any help or insight?

Turns out job wasn’t as advertised. Mutual parting of ways 3/22. Due diligence is critical.
Now interviewing a LOT. Some temp work, I still have “it”. I relate to all gens. Willing to mentor AND learn from all. Tech savvy, CTE from day one. Leads?

When should a stub start getting worried about not having much work and low billable hours?
I’ve asked for work but no luck. I know they say this is normal for a stub but when should I start getting worried and consider looking for exit options? Fyi, I like my practice group, so I don’t want to change to a different group within my firm, hence would have to lateral, if I have to. Also, other co-1st years are churning in high hours.

As a mid-senior level associate in litigation/investigations/arbitration, do you feel like what you’re currently doing is actually holding you back in terms of professional/personal development? We spend so much time going over the nittiest and grittiest of details that I feel like I’m not actually learning anything new anymore or expanding my skill set. I work in a super lean team and as a 6th year I’m still doing a lot of the grunt work. Is this normal?
