I love the Great Depression and WWII units- I have so many fun simulations and hands on activities and the kids just are generally already more engaged in those topics. I also enjoy the Cold War era topics.

I love US immigration and WWII.

The Gilded Age in US History, and among my favorite topics there, I love to teach students about the work of Jacob Riis and Thomas Nast due to the very visual nature of their chosen mediums of photography and political cartoons.

I went on a weekend hiking trip with a male friend who I thought was platonic, assuming we’d split everything 50/50. I booked activities and car rental totaling $700, while he booked the hotel. During the trip, he tried to hook up, and I made clear I wasn’t interested. It made the rest of the trip awkward, but even more so when I said we should split expenses evenly…and then he told me the hotel cost $1800 for two nights. Con’t

We need Biden to deal with student debt like a business would. Cancel an amount that will provide completely relief to 70% of debtors. Those who abused the system still have to pay off their balance and everyone else can invest their resources into reinvigorating our service based economy.

Students enjoy the lesson and teacher demonstration. Students do not want to do the assignments which follow the lesson. Flipping is recommended yet students do not desire the assignments either way.

Started horseback riding lessons yesterday after 14 years. It was heaven. I literally forgot where I was, and all the problems I have faced in the last couple of years with my ex-husband. I had to jolt myself back to reality when I got off. Such an incredible experience and can't wait to go again! ❤️🐎

Leaving a biglaw shop at end of the year. A client that I've worked with, and who has liked my work, reached out to me (a senior associate, copying all clients but copying no partners or other personnel from my firm) to ask if I could handle a new matter. They asked for a conflicts check and what my billable rate might be in the new year. I'm departing to a new, much smaller firm which will most likely have a much lower rate. How do you approach this? Alert the typical partners?

Just finished my compensation meeting at work, got my promo and a really nice raise that pushed me into the six figure club. If you had asked me 5 years ago if I'd ever be making this much money or be having this much success I would have laughed. My wife is super happy for me and has been a big support but I'm secretly starting to resent the fact I settled for her. If I had known I could do this well in life I would have waited and done so much better than her 😕
