60s is always a great period to teach. My fav is the roaring 20s!
I teach Middle but I am looking forward to incorporating the Workshop Model in SS this year! Less of me talking and more of them interacting with each other!

I love teaching US immigration!
Vietnam and ww2 and civil rights
I love the Great Depression and WWII units- I have so many fun simulations and hands on activities and the kids just are generally already more engaged in those topics. I also enjoy the Cold War era topics.

The Gilded Age in US History, and among my favorite topics there, I love to teach students about the work of Jacob Riis and Thomas Nast due to the very visual nature of their chosen mediums of photography and political cartoons.
