I have received offer from Shell and SAP labs is in final stage salary discussion. Shell is offering 6 lacs more than @SAP labs. I have tried to negotiate a lot from SAP but they are not ready. They are putting conditions like give your full commitment to join then only we'll release offer letter. I am currently looking for work life balance with growth. Should I join @SAP considering its a Product based and good WLB and learning? Teck Stack - Java/Micro-services/cloud YOE - 11yrs

I have seen people transition from audit to all of the roles you mentioned. Not sure why you think it wouldn’t make you a viable candidate.
I thought they’d ask for someone with years worth of experience for that specific role? Sorry if my question is dumb I just had a manager yell at me today saying I need to know exactly what I want to do (I mentioned that I had done tasks relating to financial reporting department). They kinda made me spiral
That’s the key, figuring out what you want to do after audit. I’ve been here 5 years and still don’t know and it’s beginning to complicate things because it’s obvious I don’t want to stay in audit forever but it’s about time to jump ship, just not sure where yet
Audit is the training ground for all of those roles. Consulting typically likes to transition people over that have a few years of audit under their belt.
You’ll have an insane amount of linkedin messages from recruiters about other jobs and changing careers. Turnover has always been extremely high in audit, recruiters are aware of this. Just saying consulting and advisory is pretty broad but working in audit definitely keeps them open.
By broad I really just mean you should try to know what you want to leave for, you haven’t even started full time and are already considering exit opportunities. Give it a chance, especially if you find it easy enough, then you’ll know what you want to leave for
Audit and accounting are great careers to start with. Once you figure out what you want, you can start to specialize or focus on a specific sector / niche
