I think i would say its active listening.

Community managers need to be able to communicate effectively with people from all backgrounds, from members of the community to people in leadership positions. Talking to a LOT of people will hone those skills

In order to effectively communicate ideas, clarify technical terms, and offer direction as a community manager, you must be able to do it in a clear, succinct, and understandable manner. It's also crucial to be able to hear what the community needs and comprehend how to provide those requirements.

Besides organization and structure, I would add communication and leadership (in terms of leading others) stake holder management and influence without authority are key for a pm

I think it is the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders. As a community manager, you must be able to develop relationships with stakeholders of all types, such as members of the community, business partners, and other organizations. This ability to collaborate is essential for establishing trust and credibility within the community, which is key for successful community management.

One skill I only realized was important in community management when I already started working was the ability to listen. Being able to actively listen to the conversations happening within the community and understanding the needs of the members is essential for successful community management. It is also important to be able to respond quickly to any questions or feedback in order to maintain relationships and trust among community members.

I quickly realized that communication skills were paramount to successful community management. Being able to effectively communicate with members of the community, understand their needs and provide clear and concise responses was essential. I also found that being organized and having a knack for problem solving were also important skills to have in order to successfully manage a community.

The ability to think on my feet and adjust strategies quickly. Community management requires a lot of flexibility, so being able to come up with creative solutions and switch strategies on the fly has been invaluable. I had to learn how to be reactive to changing circumstances, while also staying ahead of the curve and anticipating potential issues.

Mine would be the skill to understand the different types of members in the community and how to effectively engage with them. This includes recognizing members who are active, vocal, and influential, as well as understanding how to best engage with members who are more passive or less knowledgeable about the community. Being able to recognize the different types of members allowed me to better customize my approach to each member and ensure that I was providing them with the best possible experience.

Well, having strong communication and interpersonal skills was essential to be successful in community management. As a community manager, you are often the face of a company, and you need to be able to effectively interact and engage with a variety of stakeholders. Additionally, I found that having an understanding of customer service and basic marketing was also necessary to be successful in this role.
