I have a confession to make.
Hi DI folks, how were the hikes last year??
My probation was supposed to be of 6 months (i.e until June 2022), but today I received a notification in Workday that I have passed my probation.
How is this possible?
I was planning to resign within probation for 30days notice period. But now this happened. Will this change my notice period to 90days??

I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

Take a mental health day! Go for a walk, disconnect, and rediscover what fulfills you either at your job or something your job is able to help provide you with (paid vacation, benefits, etc). Learn a new hobby and spend time working on that hobby either before or after work. You'll get through this!
Thanks for the advice I will for sure try to put this into practice.
Ground yourself. If you are being abused at work, record all interactions (discrimination) and contact an attorney. Otherwise, try to switch up your routine. You were likely getting underpaid, so it may be time to look for a new job with better pay. Make sure you discuss culture so that you’re not moving from one shitty job to another shitty job. No amount of pay is worth your health, specifically your mental and emotional health.
Thanks, will keep that in mind!
This is me right now. Just got promoted from Associate to Director and I’m just feeling like I don’t have any drive to do my job anymore. Would be open to connecting and commiserating. Just feel like I’m in a funk with no one to talk to bc my direct supervisors would see me as ungrateful.
First, congrats on the promotion. Second, I totally know what you are feeling. I am always open to talk if you would like.
We're in the same boat. I'm still finding that motivation, but I feel that the pause and the self-reflection on what I value the most are helping me gradually overcome it. I'm still deciding though if I will stay or if it's time to look elsewhere.
I’m glad you are able to start overcoming it, that gives me hope. I hope you figure out what’s best for you.
Find a new hobby. Something that you're passionate about and that makes you happy. Maybe painting, hiking or playing video games? Whatever it is make time for it every day.
