What to do? Defamation of character committed by a manager of a global corp on a RET MIL VET. A legal recording proves the offense, local internal management swept it under the rug, told the victim to stay away, and promoted the offender. The corp publicly prides itself on supporting the community, VETs, and upholding great values and ethics, yet countless incidents of toxicity, inappropriate relationships, indecency in the workplace, hostile work environment, etc. are condoned systemic issues.

I would report it to the regulators if you can


Is there any confidential official channel you can regulate this through? Also make a list of the negative impact and talking points. Just saying hear what this person said isn't enough

From what I understand, ethics is separate from legal. Legal violations have consequences, ethical violations don’t. What’s the point of ethics if there are no consequences? Sure when it’s convenient to be ethnical, everyone will be. It only matters when it’s not convenient. So should there be ethics set up with consequences like loss of job that applies evenly for everyone in the company including the CEO? Should their be financial consequences set up for smaller violations?

One troubling angle was the use of NDAs to stifle victims. NDAs have for too long enabled bad behavior to continue, and it's time companies pledged to stop using NDAs in settlements with victims -- the coverup is worse than the bad acts. I think Warren torpedoed Bloomberg's campaign due to his use of NDAs. Thoughts?

At a startup I left because of this, my boss had been there since day 1. He was a nightmare. The last straw was when he took out his anger at a home issue on me and made fun of me for being upset. HR told me they couldn't do anything about him.
