Thoughts on large companies taking PPP loans?

Brand new into my career and I’m trying to juggle wanting to max my 401k, Roth IRA, and HSA, while also saving for a down payment on a house! I realize that with my current salary ($78k) doing all this is too ambitious. Any advice on streamlining my priorities and which ones I should give up on for right now? If anyone else has gone through something similar early in their career what did you do?

Is it just me or does anyone else know or have an inclination that their employer committed fraud after receiving PPP loans during COVID pandemic?

Anyone here willing to connect/talk about buying a house in Toronto. Would really appreciate it. I am just overwhelmed thinking about it and not taking any action.

My play for next week:
Sell the SPY 200 puts since the market would plummet. Look for opportunities to buy back, probably when the stim bill passes. Would love to hear your thoughts on it

I ask because I’ve let my credit spending get a bit lax since moving and adopting a puppy recently, so I haven’t been paying them off in full every month like I used to (though still well above the minimum payment, and keeping utilization at 30% or under). I’ve long disliked the term ethics. Definitions of ethics all refer to morals. Morals are very personal and vary a lot from person to person, culture to culture. Law is how we as a society express our preferences and impose rules and restrictions on ourselves. So the question should never be about whether companies can be ethical. What does that mean? One person thinks eating meat is unethical, another thinks it’s perfectly ethical. Companies should focus on complying with the law.

Market research is beginning to show that younger consumers (Millennial/Gen Z) are increasingly prioritizing ethical and sustainable companies. Will ethics become table stakes moving forward?

As someone who is virtually our only compliance person at a mid-size company, I often get questions for legal advice. I am not an attorney and cannot give legal advice (my disclaimer), but I do look at the situation from a compliance/policy/process lens and urge to consult legal always. Ethics is a topic in computer engineering that I have had to dance around. In a federal capacity with a security clearance ethics didn't mean anything.

From what I understand, ethics is separate from legal. Legal violations have consequences, ethical violations don’t. What’s the point of ethics if there are no consequences? Sure when it’s convenient to be ethnical, everyone will be. It only matters when it’s not convenient. So should there be ethics set up with consequences like loss of job that applies evenly for everyone in the company including the CEO? Should their be financial consequences set up for smaller violations?

I have been approached by one of the biggest global management consulting firm for a position that requires 2+ years of experience and in locations which were not on the table in screening with hiring manager. As someone who comes with 6+ years of global experience, how would you recommend managing the opportunity? Hi everyone, wanted to come back and talk about the work environment at the Washington Redskins/Football Club -- the Washington Post story was pretty jaw dropping. One troubling angle was the use of NDAs to stifle victims. NDAs have for too long enabled bad behavior to continue, and it's time companies pledged to stop using NDAs in settlements with victims -- the coverup is worse than the bad acts. I think Warren torpedoed Bloomberg's campaign due to his use of NDAs. Thoughts?

I could use some advice on this situation. I’ve been working for a small family owned business in Toronto Canada for about 4months. I’ve noticed a lot of unprofessional behaviour since I’ve started (yelling at workers infront of customers) I’ve bounced around different positions so much that the owner blames 98% of stuff on me when something isn’t done, even if it’s not my responsibility anymore.A week ago I asked for an employment contract to get this straight but nothing yet. How do you feel about leaving a company shortly after joining?

I've been told by people to not be loyal to companies & I've seen posts in forums where people have talked about leaving workplace 1, at workplace 2 for like 3 weeks, and already interviewing for workplace 3 (and the recruiter for workplace 3 doesn't even know that the person has left workplace 1). That feels a little disingenuous and...bad etiquette maybe? What do you think?
