Advice needed - boyfriend has almost 3.5 years of finance experience at a bank. Interviewed for PwC valuation senior associate and now recruiter says they want to hire him at “experienced associate” because he has no valuation experience. Is this too big of a step backwards in career? Should he push back and see if it gets him anywhere? If he does accept Associate, is it reasonable to ask for written, definitive timeline (1 year?) for promo to Senior upon meeting standards? Help!
I am WAY TOO nice to be in public accounting….

I worked at McDonald’s. No it does not connect to what I am doing now other than still dealing with unreasonable clients/customers.
Grocery store. No connection to my present except that I still bag groceries the way I was taught way back when 😂
Worked at a funeral home so no
I worked at Chick-fil-A. I still have to be nice to people I don’t want to be nice to, but other than that, it in no way relates to what I do now
I worked at Burger King on the night shift, which really prepared me for working with completely toxic human beings with entirely unrealistic expectations.
Door to door sales. I now do b2b software sales. Same principle just more money.
Worked at a machine shop as an engraver. Only connection is it’s helped me develop my lead paint stare for when my massive excel file takes 10 minutes to open.
Sandwich Artist at Subway.
Only relation I can think of to PA would be a nice sounding title for someone that’s actually not all that competent 😂
I did set up and tear down at a community fine arts center. No real transferable skills, but I’m good with a hammer and know how to hang a picture.
Used to work in the fields. My family were migrant workers. Now I audit agricultural companies.
Was a small boost to understanding client operations, but I was unfamiliar with the accounting side of things- the actual revenues/expenses, balance sheet amounts, etc.
I worked at a movie theater cleaning up customers’ garbage in between the movie screenings. Now, I’m cleaning up the customers’ garbage in their workpapers. Same same, but without the free movies and a much higher compensation.
I worked as a park counselor. Most of these roles are now run by the local YMCA or local Boys & Girls club. They also require that a certain number of the instructors are lifeguards. I am not an educator but it would be a good role for someone who is interested in teaching. You also have to enjoy spending time outdoors.
First was in a small retail store. First internship was in a bank
Subway. No not really. Went from Sandwich Artist to Numbers Artist.

Mowed lawns. No correlation to what I do except just work thru the hot, sweaty days
