What were some of the worst expense offenses you’ve seen/heard of? Just found out that a teammate got fired today due to severe expense policy violation. I can’t even imagine what could’ve been so bad

Deloitte had to change their expense policy after my fraternity brother spent a fortune on a client dinner including several bottles each of Dom and Cristal. He topped off the dinner with Louis XIII and kept the bottle. He quit before they could fire him.

A group of landed offshore resources were each given a stipend for apartment rent and utilities. They decided to all room together, but each person continued to expense their rent and utilities. Not sure how the company caught on, but they were asked to each present an electric bill with their name on it and were unable to furnish proof. All got fired.

Once when we were partying during a business trip in Budapest, I expensed 22 Irish car bombs in a pub 😬 The expense policy of the firm was no alcohol and we have submit all original receipts. I submitted a receipt written in Hungarian. Got away with it 😎

What’s $30K at a strip club look like? At $30 per dance thats 1,000 dances. At 3 min per dance that’s 3,000 minutes or 50 hours of dances! 50 hours of dances is 10 people each getting dances non stop for 5 hours. There must have been some “extra” payments involved...

Pwc2 - expensing 30k for car is fake. I doubt anyone would do it. Are you trying to win this contest by unfair means ;)

For hotels we now require full breakdowns of the folio and expenses. There once was an EM who before leaving the firm filled out all his outstanding expenses in a final amount of more than $100k. Thus, no one noticed until later he had bought a $5k Rolex while on a project - on hotel room credit. By that point, he had already left

I have not been on a project for over 3 months. Since I joined, I have been put in training. The training got extended by a month and now it's close to 4 months since I joined and without a project.

What should I do? People say that I'm lucky to get paid without doing any work, but it is stressing me out. I need the experience. The uncertainty is freaking me out, with rumours of layoffs and the certification program and all.

How do I get into a project? How long do I have to wait more?

When you say your salary jumped __x, how is that exactly calculated?

Mine was $16k (minimum wage before joining corporate) > $40k (contractor total before getting laid off) > $150k (current FT)?

Is that a 260% jump or 2.6x from $16k to $40k?
And a 375% jump or 3.75x from $40k to $150k?

Or do I calculate it by hourly rate?
