What working hours are fair in consulting?

Considering lateraling up significantly up to a V15 firm from a V75 firm. At current gig I have work life balance and rarely work weekends. I also decline work when I’m at capacity for the day (8 hours billable). What’s the deal with V15 firms? Is declining work and weekends off while keeping the job a possibility?

Anyone work in one of the tax technology groups? I’m currently in SALT, but have some significant technology experience from some prior roles that I think could make me a decent fit for something like this. How is the WLB, pace of work, etc.? Im also curious how the exit opportunities look?

Is it okay to disappear from friends & family to work on career change goals (several months)? I want to focus and not get distracted by friends & family needs to see me or attend certain things as it takes up a lot of time. If I focus for a short time, I can quickly achieve my goals to switch. I can hangout with them after all of that. What do you think?? Any feedback will be appreciated.

I had a hectic last three months working up to 16 hours a day due to my project. During this time I took advantage of convenient food which isn’t always the best. Now that things have died down I am having trouble switching from the less convenient food, snaking more than I should and not being as active as I was during the three months previously. Hello All, my joining date needs to be extended by 5 days in JPMC and HR said in call that no revised offer letter based on new joining date will be issued and new joining date confirmation will be somewhat communicated prior to 3 days of onboarding.
However he mentioned he will reply back with a confirmation email on top of the email which I have sent requesting for revised joining date.
Do you see any risk of offer cancellation/revocation here?

27 y/o manager and having what feels like a quarter life crisis. The consulting grind feels unsustainable for me long term, but I don’t know what else I would even want to do.
