What would it take for you to move out of state? Opportunity? Money/cost of living? Family?

Family for me

Not much at all. I don't have any real ties where I am and if I'm being honest with myself, I'm probably long overdue to shake up life a little bit. An interesting job and enough pay to maintain or slightly improve my lifestyle, I'd be happy to move.

Family

I just recently moved out of state, but it was more of an opportunity than anything. My wife, daughter and I moved away from family only because my job account was closing and had to move to continue supporting my family.

All of the above for different reasons. I would move for better opportunities, additional cash, and for my family. We did it 10 years ago and it has made a big difference for us in terms of opportunities and the cash we were able to save. My kids even got a stay-at-home parent for a few years out of the move. It was one of the best decisions we made.

I've been working as a Junior Analog Design Engineer for a year and half.
