Never mind figured it out.
I was recruited due to a specific skill and knowledge set combined with industry knowledge - that's usually what they are looking for
I basically did that. Also based on industry knowledge and experience. Took a (big) bump down in level and pat thought.
Pay
Similar, I opted against it as the drop in pay was over 40k. I knew it all going in and thier process is so well managed. Even with the pay hit, the decision was still a difficult one given the exit opportunities and the large bonus structure and rapid increases in pay at McKinsey.
Got recruiter for a special set of skills (Analytics). Got a 20% pay bump to PL. pretty happy with the whole process
Network and previously very close to an offer
Mck1 how big was the bump down. Was it worth it?

Would it be worth reaching out to them, keeping in mind they'd be an associate, for a referral? Or are referrals only taken seriously at MBB for higher ups?
I'm in the process right now. Manager in big 4, close to being promoted in current role. I'm struggling with the level I'm being offered as well. Even though money is higher.
