Has anyone ever left finance (or know someone that has) to do something completely different? My experience is split between FP&A and accounting and while I have progressed, I am becoming depressed b/c I feel like I’m in the wrong field. I am generally a motivated, high performing person, but I al starting to slip up and care less, b/c my work is not satisfying to me. I know I just sound like a complainer, but does anyone have any advice?

I’m asking to get my notice period waived. I have a 30 day notice period per the employment agreement I signed, but it says they can waive it at any time after I gave notice. Im not going to a competitor or even the same industry. How likely is for my current firm to allow this?

Dilemma… I left my old company 4 months ago. Today, they’ve reached out to me to ask me to come back at a higher role, Operations Manager. I would’ve jumped on this opportunity if they asked me before. However, this role would be hybrid (2x in office) and come along with more responsibilities and hours than my current WFH role which is very chill. The pay is only 15% more than I currently make. Coming out of UG, I accepted my first job b/c I thought I had to based on status of other interviews. I ended up quitting after 8 weeks in favor of an opportunity I perceived to be better, but took longer to get. 7 months into the new gig, I am NOT happy. Considering this is technically my second job out of school, how long should I stick around before trying to leave without looking like a total scumbag opportunist?
