Need help deciding if this offer is worth moving for. Received an offer from Booz Allen Hamilton for an Associate level Sr. Systems Engineer in Los Angeles for $135k base. I countered $150k and a $15k singing bonus and asked if I could be brought on as a lead associate since I've been a lead/manager for a while in my current company.
Current company TC: $125k in Utah.
YOE: 7 with M.S. and MBA

Just remember that it's 250k of shares at the time of hire that vest every year. So someone who got that offer and started in August 2012, would've instantly had that initial $250k in shares later become $568k a year later after they've become vested, followed by the shares vested in 2014 being worth 1.03 mil, 2015 - 1.25 mil, and finally 2016's vested shares being worth 1.70 mil. That's basically a net worth of $4.55 mil.
The point that I want to make is that in consulting you can't get these financial gains until after you've become a PPD. So if Facebook is offering you an opportunity to leave consulting, take it. If you want, you come always back in 6-8 years and return a much more wealthier person with less to truly worry about.
Yes but this is Facebook specifically. If someone told me they’re looking at this plan for TSLA or NVDA I’d be skeptical, but hot companies that go bust don’t tend to have a 10+ year track record of holding a monopoly over social media. If they’re resilient enough to survive claims of eroding US democracy I’m not sure anything but an Enron level eff up can bring them down.
Directors for tech/non-tech are both $750k-$1M TC easily, with much heavier skew on bonus and RSU. However, the 20% bonus makes it seem it’s a lower level manager role, as Directors should have a 30% target. If that’s the case, your total comp should be no more than $350k or so for non-tech, and $450-500k for swe. $280k base salary for M1 as seems extremely farfetched
FB2, could you tell us about the stock compensation amounts for different levels? How they work? Any bad stories? I found your to be useful.
Take it and run
What type of manager role is that?
It’s funny how everyone has something to say here except for answering my question. I want to get an idea of what directors there make.
Pwc 1 - thanks. That looks legit
That is definitely a high end comp even at FB both by base and stocks assuming nontech role
My perception is that salary increases may be small, beyond positions leveling to 250-300k base. Stock awards become much, much larger at Director / VP levels.
Depends on your product and P&L
Feel free to message me directly with the job id / link. Spouse works at fb and I can try to get more info
We already have that from equifax leaks.
They told you comp up front? I'm two interviews in and haven't discussed it - they said they'll allocate my level based on interview performance, and that's consistent with what I've read

CA companies are required by law to reveal compensation range if you ask

It is in security
Fake it until you can make it
OP, it has been answered indirectly. It is obviously more, and this Manager role quoted seems to be what they believe you to be qualified for. What's driving the Director range? Measuring growth or are you alreadying making more than the value of the quoted M comp?
Thanks for the help
586k for a Manager role? Doesn't sound right unless you are going for a SWE or product manager role. Security is not a role so I don't know what you want the group to comment on?
Yes congrats you read my post correctly. My question again is what do directors make in comparison.
This is engineering manager pay, similar to what Snap offers.
And that has what to do with my question?
That’s a good offer they offered me low comp high equity for a product owner role... wasn’t willing to take the low base. Director at K will be like 180-300 depending on seniority and experience. Wide band
