What's everyone's break policy? We only get 30 minutes for lunch and one 15 minute paid break for a 9 hour shift. What does everyone else get?

I think a lot of it is state dependent. When I was in NYC, there were city/state laws that needed to be followed but now that I'm in NJ, it's only "suggested"

I’m a knowledge worker in Fortune 500. We don’t have any policy in our corporate offices that I’m aware of.

We just have the 1 hour unpaid lunch policy here.

We get a 30 minute unpaid lunch and two 15 minute paid breaks. Sadly though its so busy that most of us have to work through our clocked out lunch and don't even get to take advantage of the two 15 minute breaks.

Gross that brake policy seems short and cruel if I’m being honest, we get two 15 minute pay breaks one in the morning one in the afternoon and then our lunch is an hour and we stagger that but that’s on paid so I thought our brake policy was limited, but glad I don’t have yours

I just signed up for a class that lets me write my own objectives and goals, work on them all summer, log my hours and share my successes and I get ACT48 hours and graduate credits! I can’t believe it- I figure I was going to do the work anyway- so why not get something out of it… first time I’ve been excited about doing work over the summer! 🎉

I have an offer from a start-up which I will be joining next week. Even though I got a hike more than 100% ( current tc: 6lpa, new tc:14lpa) and changed to sde role I am still not satisfied. Seeing all those comp posts on leetcode I felt I can be one of them. But now I am feeling left behind and not able to move on. I know I have no dev experience. But every other person is getting tc more than 25. How can I get rid of this FOMO and focus on learning and growth. Drop your advice in comments sec.

I’m curious how long people were in the peri menopause phase? I’ve read it’s an average of 4 years but I’m curious what people’s experiences are. I believe I am late stage peri menopausal and my periods have been very irregular for the past 9 months ranging 13-60 days between periods. If anyone has any studies you could point me to, I’d love to see those as well! I’m 40 and my mom entered menopause at 41.

529 Plan VERSUS Prepaid

We live in Florida and currently have a Freshman in High School and a 16 month old. We hear from our friends and family with college bound children "I wish we would have done Florida PrePaid." After obviously ignoring this for years, we are finally trying to do it before "it's too late" for both children.

Does anyone have recommendations on which plan to go with for each child? I once did the pros and cons on a whiteboard and it seemed like 529 was better.
