What’s one good outcome from companies forcing people back into the office?

It’s an amazing time for smaller companies looking to hire top talent! No matter how much your boss fluffs it with “team building, culture, family (Ohana 🤮)…the under lying reason is that there’s way too much money invested in the real estate to let these buildings become shells. They need butts in seats to name it seem worth it.

Nothing more. You will get kool aid drinkers who will argue it’s needed too, it’s not.

Because of this sub, every time I see a dog now, I subconsciously think the owner is going to ask me for a referral.

I’ve been depressed for years now and this past week I lost a dog I’ve had for 15 years; he was one of the only bright spots in my life and I’ve just found it so hard to focus or motivate myself on anything after this. I genuinely feel like I’m at rock bottom, Idk if I’m crazy to feel that way bc of a dog but I used to be able to control this and put up a front but now my depression and anxiety are starting to leak into my work conversations completely unintentionally, I wish this would stop :(

Currently SM at Bain (4 years post MBA) and was approached for a senior associate role in portfolio ops at a large PE fund. Been told 2.5 years to VP and another 2.5 years to director. Feels like the role is a bit junior but offers a 50% pay jump.

My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I was able to work out a deal with my company before I came because of prior experience luckily, but they offer a terrible base salary and sham of a commission structure to new hires + no remote. Then sit here and can’t figure out why…

How do I go from SDR/BDR to being a Sales Engineer?

I had a job interview for a role that I really want. The hiring manager scheduled me for an interview and did not show up. Emailed me an hour later stating that he got super busy and couldn’t attend, and would like to reschedule. This is a major red flag, but I can’t help but feel that I am missing out since this role pays 50% over what I currently make. Should I let the recruiter know? What’s your take on this?
