Yes, it shows up in recruitment too. One big habit to unlearn is speed over context. Some companies reward fast follow ups and pushing candidates quickly. Others value slower, more thoughtful communication and stronger alignment with hiring managers. Same role, very different expectations.
Same thing as engineering! Was it by chance also related to the size of the company? I see speed and agency being valued more at smaller companies than big enterprises

Ooof, so many. At one job, pushing back was seen as proactive. At another, it read as “not collaborative.” Took me a while to realize that what was praised in one culture might quietly dock you points in another. Would love to hear what habits other folks had to recalibrate.
I think that in reflection this is an important point, for candidates, because you can already tell a lot about the company you'll be working for by the hints that you get about culture from these behaviors.
