Hello! Looking for some guidance. I will soon be leaving Verizon after 15 years with them (6 years HR experience, 3 years Operations, 6 years leadership). I’m confused by all these posts about Product Owners. I’ve worked at 3 Bay Area-based tech companies over 6 years and never heard of a Product Owner. As a product manager, i work with my engineering and design partners to figure out what to build and then build it. What role would a product owner play in all this? My honest assumption is that this role was invented by companies that want to pretend to be doing agile but aren’t really, but I’m open to being proven wrong.
