Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express

By using them on things that give you a high per point value return.
Smartass
Airline transfers especially when there is a tranfer bonus offer ongoing
No. Amazon is usually .75 cents per point-ish. You can do the math pretty easily.
If you’ve never used it for amazon there’s usually a promo where if you link your account and use any number of MR points, you get $25 off your purchase - so if you buy something and use 1 MR point it’s $25 off. But other than that I’d avoid it
I’m usually happy if I can get better than 1.2 cents per point. Airline transfers are your best bet. B6 is a shitty conversion rate but I’ve gotten >1.5 using that method for domestic travel. I think your best value is business class international trips
What about amazon purchases? Are those a good deal?
Buying tickets for business class or your designated airline so you can then earn elite and award miles from Amex points
You don’t have to buy business class to earn points FYI
Business class tickets or your designated airline tickets gives 30% more value when redeeming with the Platinum card
