I'm considering a pay decrease
Minimum? 10% if things were bad in my current role. 20%+ otherwise.
Assuming things are actually fine in your current role, and you’re just chasing more $$
I’d take like -12% at this point
Last year like $260
At least 30%. I’m fully remote and have a strong network where I currently work at, so moving is not worth the risk for anything less.
0% right now
25% is pretty solid in my view. Need a lot more if it includes relocation, giving up remote work or any of QOL adjustments
Interviewing for a 70% increase rn but it’d be 5 days a week in office and it’s wild how much that fact is making me consider it
I’m about flat with my exit, but should cut hours in half
I would leave for the right opportunity at the same pay lol
i think it depends more on the role and expectations compared to current situation
if you’re jumping for a promo vs a lateral can make a difference
also growth can influence. maybe willing to take the same pay today but you’re expecting faster growth in new role
I think it depends on why you’re moving. WLB it might be worth staying at the same salary. My husband realized he wanted out of consulting after trying a smaller consulting company that then got bought by someone else. He left for the opportunity, but it’s something where the big potential money is the next level.
But he gets raises every year. He has exec relationships and nice bonuses. And he’s much happier than he ever was in consulting. He’s also treated so much better - it’s wild to see the difference and realize how poorly we are treated.
Depends upon why I am applying for a new job. If someone is recruiting me to do a similar job - then 20%.
Depends on how much you make currently but the general rule is 20-25%. I’d go lower for a 100% remote role though. Commuting to an office in a big city or having to travel sucks, especially when you have a family
Salary or OTE?
I took a 30% salary bump / 50% OTE increase to leave consulting. I would have done it for a lot less.
30%
I am leaving for 22% and 37% OTE
On-Target Earnings. Your base comp + your targeted bonus
Legit have considered lateraling at a lower level…
Have you took a moment to consider this % will significantly change as you progress in your career
0% salary but I'd want RSUs over cash
enough to pay for at least year worth of therapy because if I take a job at least 25% more than what I’m making now I’m gonna be stressed 😅
