If you were only two months into the job, I don’t quite see the need to use them as a reference. Either remove them from your resume or title it as “freelance”.
You wouldn’t want a future employer speaking to a job where you got fired after 2 months anyway.
Yup on this. The old place won’t say anything if the next place doesn’t know you were there.
I wouldn’t even write anything. Don’t chance having anything on paper.
Legally, depending on where you live, the employer can’t say anything negative. They can only confirm that you worked there from X date to X date. When asked why you left or whether you were a good employee, they need to be very careful. Whether they are or not...you’ll never know. That’s why it’s best to just leave it off the resume.
You’re fortunate to have this happen during Covid. Explain the “gap” by saying you took 2 months to collect yourself after the crazy 18 months of wfh and decide what you truly want to do.

It never happened. You don’t need to list them on your resumé and it sounds like you wouldn’t have anything to gain by listing them either.
Keep it off your resume. Nothing to gain from it since it was only 2 months.
It didn’t happen. Make like water.
Are you person who posted last week about how the CCO let you go because they didn’t have time to teach you?
Hahahah no but this sounds great
Job? What job? Pretend it never happened
