What’s the shortest amount of time you can work at a USAO before applying to Main Justice if you have a good/specific reason? Had MJ offers and USAO offers, chose an AUSA gig in a specialized unit (all offers were for this specialty), but despite hiring me for that, this USAO wants me to stay in a more general unit. Love the people, still like the job, but uprooted everything to do XYZ (which is almost my entire background and what I truly love to do) and now I’m doing ABC. Also have DC ties.

I’d say a year. Someone people will think that’s too short, but you can explain your reasons if needed in an an interview, or if you think appropriate, in a cover letter. Did you commit to any amount of years at the USAO?

This is replying late but figured still worth the response — stuck it out through the probationary period, now interviewing at MJ and other fedgov places. It has not been easy…some of the senior leadership has been terrible about the whole ideal the last few months, going so far as to fabricate things I was supposed to do but didn’t in order to justify the decision (along with personal attacks/yelling behind closed doors).

Got a temp offer for less than a year without promise of turning into full-time. Wanted to know what ppl think about temp jobs (looks bad on resume if I don't turn full-time later within the company?) and what comp should look like (e.g. 1.2× of regular comp?).

Got another perm offer in a different industry for similar salary, but I might have to relocate and I'm concerned the work may involve translation instead of pure legal work.

Hi! I'm currently interviewing (3/6 interviews so far) for for an appeals manager role for DME. The job entails not only to bill for dme (cms 1500) but also to follow up on any denials or appeals, amongst other administrative duties. My questions are is it typical to have 1 person doing both the billing and denials within a new vertical for all ins.? How difficult is billing for dme as I only have experience in gyn onc and lactation billing? What's a fair salary? I have 8+ yoe in rcm, no certs.
